History of BNCC- Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC):

In 1920, the British government formed the "University Corps" with students from various Indian universities. In 1923, the name was changed to "University Training Corps" under the Indian Defense Forces Act, 1923.

UTC was launched in Dhaka University in the same year. In November 1927, Captain E. Groom arranged military training of First Aid Corps to 16 teachers and 100 students of Dhaka University. It was officially promoted to a company in June 1928. It was one of the 12 units of UTC. It was named “12 Dhaka Company.”

The then Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University. Unpaid Lt. to Mohammad Hasan. A company is given charge with the rank of colonel. In 1943 it was named “University Officers Training Corps.” Its first annual training camp was held at Shillong in 1946.

It was raised to a battalion in 1950 with 625 cadets and 40 officers promoted. The Government of Pakistan banned UTC on 30 January 1953. But after the student protest in 1966, its activities started again.

In the same year it was renamed as “Pakistan Cadet Corps or PCC” and “Junior Cadet Corps or JCC” was formed for school-college students. In 1971, cadets of PCC and JCC played an important role and 22 cadets were martyred. After independence, the name "Pakistan Cadet Corps" was replaced by the name "Bangladesh Cadet Corps"

On March 31, 1976, three infantry divisions of Bangladesh Cadet Corps were established at Jahangirnagar University, Chittagong University and Rajshahi University. On March 23, 1979, the then President Ziaur Rahman issued a government order organizing the BCC, JCC and establishing the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps or BNCC.


What is BNCC in Bangladesh

The BNCC is the second-tier, paramilitary, volunteer force of the Bangladesh Army, comprising Army, Navy and Air Force cadets. It consists of military officers, JCOs, NCOs, civil officers and teachers and students of various educational institutions.

And Bangladesh National Cadet Corps – BN CC is the second line de-fence force This largest non-political organization of Bangladesh, which carries the motto “Knowledge & Discipline, The Volunteers”, has a glorious history. It is mainly divided into 3 wings Namely – Army Wing, Navy Wing and Air Wing

Pyramid Colors – The tricolor pyramid represents Army, Navy and Air which trains and houses BNCC cadets for future leadership.

Volunteer – Human base and fundamental is to serve as a volunteer without any fear or favor. As the sprit of BNCC is 'Volunteers'.

BNCC cadets are given various trainings to make them a successful cadet These are:

BNCC Camping :

1 . Capsule Camp : This camp usually lasts for 7-10 days. 2. Annual/Annual Camp: This camp usually lasts for 15-17 years.

3. Central Camp : This camp lasts for 2 to 3 weeks and is held in Savar, Dhaka.

4. Winter Camp : The camp is held during winter It is considered as the most fun camp of BNCC.

5. Routine training : 120 periods of routine training are completed annually in respective educational institutions.

What are the BNCC benefits? Why do you want to join BNCC

Students can easily join the armed forces through BNCC. They undergo physical and mental training like the military forces. They do not have to pass written, oral and health tests while joining the armed forces.

And SELECTED cadets participate directly in ISSB examination and BNCC cadets get many privileges. At the end of each camp they are given appropriate honors Moreover, BNCC certificate also helps in going abroad for higher education.

In the crisis situation of our country, cadets work as instructors, i.e. give military training to ordinary people. Thus they play a role in forming the local defense force or Territorial Force They can also participate in frontal combat if ordered by the military

Having BNCC certificate at the time of joining military forces, some benefits are available Even if they do not participate in the written examination of military forces According to the performance of BNCC cadets, they are also given the opportunity to visit Maldives, Sri Lanka, India etc. as state guests.
